On Sept. 11, 2001, along with our country, we at Elm Ridge watched with shock and horror as our nation was attacked by terrorists. We are still responding, each of us in our own ways, with thought and prayers – the memories are endless, and there is no timeline for grief.
This event, the lives that were lost, the terror we felt, the bravery of those who went into those burning buildings in an attempt to save lives is something we feel a simple “thank you” could never express. It is for that reason, we created our 9/11 Tribute Memorial.
It’s our small way to show our eternal gratitude to those heroes who risked their lives that day and for those who continue to risk their lives daily. Our 9/11 Tribute Memorial is a testament to America’s sense of honor and spirit. We offer our gratitude to those who gave their lives so that others might go on living. And to all those who went to work one day and never returned to their families.
Built in 2004, our 9/11 Tribute Memorial has two glass towers that light up at night, and a bronze memorial plaque sitting amidst a pile of rubble. It is a place for people to come, reflect, pray, remember and heal.
Elm Ridge Funeral Home & Memorial Park has always been proud to pay tribute to those who risk their lives every day to protect and serve our country. We believe that a simple “thank you” is not enough to show our eternal gratitude to these heroes.
